We'd love to hear from you!About the role# We're looking for an experienced Investment Strategy Director to join Hargreaves Lansdown on a 9-12 months fixed term contract. The Investment Strategy Director plays a pivotal role in shaping Hargreaves Lansdown's investment philosophy, market outlook, and guidance to a broad audience of clients and stakeholders. The role directly supports HL's mission to empower investors, driving brand awareness, client acquisition, and retention while strengthening the business's competitive advantage through differentiated insight and service. What you'll be doing Working closely with the wider HL leadership team, to lead the development and continual evolution of a comprehensive coordinated and inclusive strategic plan and Investment strategy. Accountable for client outcomes, client acquisition and client retention by engaging with prospective and existing clients, delivering trusted and timely market outlooks and strategic insights. Accountable for HL's investment philosophy, provide thought leadership, including macroeconomic insights, asset allocation views, and long-term investment themes. Supporting business lines with investment views and market knowledge and insight to support strategic decision making. Setting the strategic tone for HL's content across all investment touchpoints to enhance client decision-making and confidence enabling good client outcomes, high levels of client engagement and quality information and insights that give client confidence to invest. Accountable for leading the investment research function to provide high-quality research that supports clients with their investments and reinforces HL's reputation as a trusted investment partner. overseeing economic analysis, Market Strategy, Fund and Share Research, Asset Allocation, personal finance and retirement, and ESG. Working closely with the Marketing Director to jointly establish and maintain HL's position as the most trusted and forward-thinking investment platform in the UK. Enhancing HL's competitive advantage through proprietary insight, quality research, and a differentiated client propositions. Supporting business lines through similar insights to drive effective strategic decision making. About you Proven track record in creating a clear and concise investment vision and evidence-based strategy. Extensive experience of external client engagement focused on client acquisition, client retention and engagement. Proven track record of leading an investment research function, within Wealth and Retail. Demonstrable track record of delivering performance resulting in financial & wider commercial results. Skilled at identifying market trends and developments that could result in strategic opportunities for HL and its clients. Strong written communication skills. Excellent understanding of key industry and product regulation and working with regulators. Experience implementing and using data and metrics to give business insights and allow rapid data driven decision making. Strong track record of leading high performing and efficient teams. Experience gained in a wealth management platform business highly desirable. Experience being MRT is essential. Holding SMF18 or SMF3 is highly desirable. Experience in ESG analysis. Knowledgeable on economics, financial markets and personal finance. Knowledgeable of UK tax regime; overseeing ISA and SIPP selections. Interview process The selection process will incorporate competency-based questions including an assessment of your technical knowledge and transferable skills. For candidates who progress to the next stage, there will be a presentation or assessment to prepare and deliver and an online psychometric assessment Working Schedule This role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is a fixed term contract approximately 9-12 months.
