Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Intervention Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Burton on a long term, part time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about closing attainment gaps and supporting pupils to reach their full potential. The successful candidate will deliver targeted interventions to small groups and individual pupils across Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers and senior leaders to ensure progress is measurable and impactful.

About the School

The school comprises 14 classes with approximately 380 pupils and a team of many dedicated and hard working staff. It is set within extensive grounds featuring over 1,000 trees and beautiful grassed areas, providing a calm and inspiring learning environment.

The school's ethos is centred around high quality learning experiences and nurturing the whole child. As the school states:

"We believe in nurturing a love for learning while fostering a connection to nature. Our dedicated team is committed to providing a rich and inspiring curriculum that supports every child's development."

The Role Will Include:
  • Delivering structured intervention sessions across Key Stage 2 (preferably including Year 3)
  • Assessing pupils' needs and tracking progress
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to plan targeted support
  • Providing feedback to staff and leadership regarding pupil outcomes
  • Supporting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 3)
  • Be committed, organised, and proactive
  • Be happy to fully immerse themselves in the role and wider school life
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new one through Smile Education
  • Be able to supply references covering the past two years, commenting on your interaction with children and teaching practice

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who thrives on making a real difference through targeted, high quality support.

If you are ready to help pupils build confidence, close learning gaps and achieve success, we would love to hear from you.
