Job Description

Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

An Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with 4+ years' experience is required for one of Ireland's top Main Building Contractors to work on a prestigious hotel development in County Clare. Our client has an excellent reputation in the delivery of high-quality hospitality and commercial projects, and this is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-structured and well-resourced commercial team on a landmark project in the West of Ireland. The successful candidate will have strong support from a senior commercial team and will be given genuine responsibility and the platform to progress to Senior QS level upon project completion.

Requirements
  • Degree qualified with at least 4 years' experience in Quantity Surveying with a main building contractor in Ireland or the UK
  • Previous experience on hotel, hospitality, or large-scale commercial projects is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be commercially and contractually aware
  • Ambitious and committed to delivering an excellent standard of work
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland
Role
  • Preparing tenders, analysing and selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiation and finalisation of subcontract orders, and financial and commercial management of subcontractors through to Final Account
  • Managing and reporting of forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site records, document control, variation reporting and valuations
  • Liaising with and commercially influencing the site management team whilst protecting the company's commercial and contractual entitlement
  • Managing and overseeing Assistant and Trainee QS staff, taking responsibility for their work and sign-off on measurement and SMM issues
