Job Description:

Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000
Location: Birmingham, UK (Hybrid working available)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking building services consultancy. Working across a wide range of sectors, this role is perfect for someone looking to deepen their technical expertise while contributing to sustainable, low-carbon design solutions within a collaborative and supportive team.

About the Role:

You'll play a key part in delivering high-quality electrical design work across various projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you'll be involved in the full project lifecycle - from concept through to detailed design and site support. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the design of electrical building services systems
  • Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Assisting with the coordination of electrical services with other disciplines
  • Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and external consultants
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices
  • Contributing to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions

This is a hybrid role, based in Birmingham with flexibility for remote work.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in electrical building services design, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Good knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and design software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux, Revit)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Working toward professional registration (IEng or CEng) would be beneficial

This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate-level engineer to grow within a supportive environment, working on technically challenging and rewarding projects that make a real impact.
