Job Description
6-month finance contract role (September 2025 start)

  • Group Financial Controller - PE Backed Technology business (£70 million T/O)
  • Interim - 6 months - from £500 a day upwards (outside IR35)
  • Interviews - as soon as this week - to start in September (depending on availability)
  • Hybrid work available: 3 days on-site main office in Swindon & 2 days from home
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing PE-backed technology company as Group Financial Controller. Backed by a leading global investor, the business is experiencing rapid growth both organically and through acquisitions, and is looking for a commercially astute, fully qualified accountant to take ownership of group financial control and operations. Reporting in to the CFO, you will lead a talented finance team, strengthen financial governance, drive systems automation, and partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including M&A and integration projects. This role offers a clear progression path and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a scaling, high-profile organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, management accounts, and board reporting.
  • Lead cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and treasury operations.
  • Manage external audit, compliance, and tax strategy, ensuring robust controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive automation and process improvement across finance operations (AP, AR, payroll, treasury), with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Partner with the leadership team on strategic projects, including M&A due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and future funding activities.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

    Essential Background:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred, ACCA considered) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record in financial control and operations within a PE-backed or high-growth SME environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102/FRED82) and IFRS equivalents.
  • Demonstrable experience in finance systems transformation
  • Industry experience in technology, SaaS, telecoms, or digital infrastructure advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
