Company Introduction:
We're seeking an experienced Interaction Designer to join the Authentication System programme - a critical digital transformation initiative. You'll play a key role in shaping how millions of UK users securely interact with government services.
As an Interaction Designer, you will work within a multi-disciplinary agile team to improve user experience across a suite of government platforms. This is a high-impact role focused on designing intuitive, accessible, and user-centred digital experiences, contributing directly to how the public accesses essential services.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Design and improve interaction patterns and user journeys to make government services simpler and more effective to use.
- Work closely with user researchers, service designers, content designers, developers, and policy stakeholders to develop solutions grounded in user needs.
- Prototype and iterate design concepts based on user feedback and evidence.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to support the implementation of design changes across multiple project phases.
- Communicate designs and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to stakeholder reporting by providing clear design rationale and evidence-based insights.
- Support team collaboration and agile delivery through improved ways of working.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Proven experience in interaction design within complex service environments.
- Strong understanding of User-Centred Design (UCD) principles and methodologies.
- Ability to prototype at different levels of fidelity, including in code where needed.
- Confident working within agile, multidisciplinary teams and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience incorporating insights from user research into design decisions.
- Clear communicator with a collaborative approach to working across digital disciplines.
- Passion for supporting junior talent and contributing to a growing design community
