Job Description

We are seeking industry-specialist Instrumentation Engineers to join our manufacturing arm within the technical support team. This multidisciplinary team interfaces with technical and business support requirements for our global manufacturing operations, mainly supporting GM Operating facilities.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining instrument systems across multiple downstream facilities. You will also provide technical support for high-priority systems issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance, support, training, and expertise to plant departments.
  • Monitor instrumentation systems performance across all downstream departments.
  • Assess instrumentation performance and recommend improvements for system optimization.
  • Develop and maintain lifecycle management activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Establish auditing guidelines and perform regular instrument audits.
  • Lead the development of new strategies and validate the feasibility of improving company productivity.
  • Ensure manufacturing knowledge is captured in the knowledge repository and continuous improvement is achieved through benchmarking and best practices.
  • Conduct awareness sessions and lead technical exchanges and conferences.
  • Maintain the instrumentation systems knowledge repository.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in instrumentation and contribute to troubleshooting activities.

The Successful Candidate

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in refining, oil and gas plants, or petrochemical industries.
  • Proficiency in relevant codes and standards such as API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with field instrument types and applications.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas-related plant processes.
