Role Overview

Test and Inspection Engineer

Location: St. Neots, Cambridgeshire PE19

Duration: 12 months +

Rate: £27.00 - £30.00 p/h PAYE

Client: Leading Automation and Control Systems provider with operations in over 100 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Inspect DCS, Network/Server Cabinets assembled on site to engineering drawings and bills of materials.
• Produce inspection reports to highlight faults and corrective actions (Quality Control).
• Staging and energisation of DCS cabinets for Project Teams.
• Circuit/loop type testing and simulation tests.
• Provide support during Factory Acceptance Tests as required.
• Work as a member of the Inspection & Test team, ensuring projects are on time and on budget.
• Maintain test equipment loan and calibration databases.

Main Tasks / Responsibilities

• Ensure work inspected against Engineering Drawings, then safely powered up and handed to Application Engineering.
• Participate in the day to running of the Inspection Department.
• Provide hardware related problem solving throughout the Hardware Design and Assembly function all the way through to FAT.
• Support the Project Engineering team throughout FAT.

Essential Skills / Qualifications

• Experienced and competent to inspect electrical equipment related to the engineering drawings (preferably DCS cabinets).
• Computer literate, able to maintain spreadsheets.
• Able to work as part of a team as well as on their own.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Current UK residency required.
