The RoleWe are looking for an experienced senior professional to join our European Business Development & Operations team. As an Charles River Insourcing Solutions Specialist you are Reporting to the Associate Director & Business Development Manager Europe, you will play a key role in driving business growth while ensuring operational excellence at client sites.
You will identify new business opportunities and market potential within a defined portfolio, contribute to the development of strategic sales pipelines, and take responsibility for the operational delivery and leadership of on-site teams.
The role is highly flexible, with a strong home-office component. Candidates must be based in Switzerland or Germany and be willing to travel regularly across Europe.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new business development initiatives, including upselling and cross-selling with existing clients
- Contribute to strategic deal teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics and emerging opportunities
- Represent Charles River as a trusted, senior partner to key clients and stakeholders
- Support pricing strategies, business cases and tender processes
- Lead and develop operational teams, fostering performance, engagement and leadership capability
- Ensure operational excellence, contractual compliance and KPI performance at client sites
- Initiate and lead efficiency, process improvement and cost-optimization projects
Your Profile- Master's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Management or a related field
- Proven experience in business development, operations management or a comparable senior role
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder management capabilities
- Fluency in English and German; Italian is an advantage
- Strategic mindset, strong leadership skills and a high level of autonomy
- Flexibility and willingness to work in an international, travel-oriented role
