Insolvency Senior Associate Partner

Job Title: Senior Associate / Partner - Contentious Insolvency

I'm currently working with a well-established commercial firm in Central Manchester that is looking to strengthen its litigation and insolvency offering with the hire of a Senior Associate or Partner-level solicitor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and experienced lawyer to lead on complex contentious insolvency matters, working with a wide range of clients including insolvency practitioners, directors, lenders, and professional advisors. The team is known for handling high-quality, technically challenging disputes across the insolvency space and is looking for someone to play a key role in the continued growth of the practice.

The role will involve:

• Advising insolvency practitioners, creditors, and directors on contentious insolvency matters including misfeasance claims, wrongful and fraudulent trading, antecedent transactions, and asset recovery
• Acting on insolvency-related litigation, enforcement proceedings, and director disqualification actions
• Working closely with referrers across the accountancy and restructuring space to develop long-term relationships and repeat instructions
• Leading on high-value, complex litigation with minimal supervision, often with cross-border or multi-party elements
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development initiatives and the wider litigation strategy

About you:

• A qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with strong experience in contentious insolvency matters
• Ideally 7+ years PQE, but strong senior associates ready for partnership will also be considered
• Confident handling complex disputes independently and managing cases from instruction through to resolution
• Comfortable in a client-facing role and confident building relationships with insolvency practitioners and other key intermediaries
• A commercially minded litigator with excellent technical knowledge and a practical, solutions-focused approach
