The Role

The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.

The Operations Support Team has responsibility for providing and managing effective business infrastructure and processes at a national level to support operational activities at site level.

Reporting to the Insights Manager, the Insights Development Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality analysis to provide insights to the Asset Operation's functions through a number of key activities including developing best in class reporting capabilities, data and technical support, promotion of "Right First Time" and the delivery of the Business Support Team's programme of works.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Determine reporting requirements for Asset Operations and enable the provision of performance related insights to the function and key stakeholders
  • Manage the design and building of standardised Asset Operations reporting capabilities for handover for BAU (Business As Usual) activities
  • Ensure efficient working relationships with other business teams, providing best in class customer service and technical support to Stakeholders
  • Ensure interim reporting capabilities are in place, supporting operational oversight across the Asset Operations functions
  • Develop and oversee Asset Operation's Centralised Reporting and "Right First Time" initiatives
  • Support Insights Performance Team's review of Operational KPIs for Asset Operations to measure performance and success
  • Manage and oversee structured data repositories, documents and reports which detail Operational Performance in each operational area against Asset Operation's Work Programme and business targets
  • Perform data quality checks and ensure data provided by Asset Operations Functions is accurate and measures are highlighting true Operational performance
  • Support the delivery of best in class Crisis and Incident Management reporting and technical assistance to enable critical business decision making
  • Support the Team's strategy, horizon scanning for best practice business tools and technologies
  • Drive and promote best in class, Enterprise Content Management initiatives
  • Provide high quality, customer focused, technical and data support to Asset Operations Function
  • Participate in and support Communications and Connectivity activities (The Filter, Newsletters, Staying Connected & other UÉ publications as required)
  • Participate and support Asset Operations Employee Engagement, Well Being and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives as required
  • Raise risks and issues as appropriate to the Insights Manager
General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to: Asset Operations Senior Management Teams; Water / Wastewater Regional Operations & Maintenance Senior Managers; Asset Operations Regional teams, Workflow & Inventory teams, Performance Delivery team, Insights & Support team, Operational Contracts & Commercial teams, and Operational Support teams; Asset Operations Integration & Management Team; Uisce Éireann HSQE, IT, Finance & Business Services Teams
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation wide objectives.
  • Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
  • Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience required. Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience of reporting development using latest technologies and visualisation tools, analysis, and insights across multiple operational areas
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of industry core enterprise systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Power BI or other data visualisation tools
  • Strong understanding of best practice Enterprise Content Management (SharePoint)
  • Strong IT competency and data modelling experience
