About The Role

Bridge the Student - Employer Gap and Empower Students Futures - Join us Industry Liaison Officer

EKC Canterbury College are seeking an Industry Liaison Officer within their Professional Services Department.

With a background in Hair and Beauty, as an Industry Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for securing, coordinating and monitoring work placements across a range of vocational areas. Acting as the main point of contact for employer engagement within your areas, you will build and maintain strong relationships with employers while supporting students to successfully prepare for, and complete, their industry placements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Securing and managing industry work placement opportunities for students
  • Acting as the primary liaison between employers, students and college teams
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of employer engagement activities, including employer events and student workplace visits
  • Ensuring employer documentation is completed and returned in line with college processes and national expectations
  • Working with students on a one-to-one and small group basis to identify employability skills gaps
  • Supporting students to develop their skills, confidence and workplace behaviours to achieve successful placements

This role is central to ensuring students gain valuable real-world experience and are well prepared for future employment.

Weeks per year: 37

Salary per year (including holiday pay): £16,961

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Is highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Can apply a flexible and responsive approach to work demands
  • Demonstrates an inquisitive and analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Is able to work independently using their own initiative, as well as collaboratively as part of a team

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject is desirable. Alternatively, relevant sector experience and a willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification will be considered.

If you have experience in this field and a passion for supporting young people to develop their employability skills and progress into industry, this role could be ideal for you.
