The Production Engineering team at Boeing Sheffield are looking to hire an Industrial Engineer.

The Industrial Engineering team designs, improves, and implements integrated systems. They use specialized knowledge in maths, sciences, and engineering to specify, predict, and evaluate system results. They also handle production scheduling, scenario planning, staffing, capital forecasts and data analysis.

The ideal candidate will apply industrial engineering concepts, manufacturing operations knowledge, and business insight to collaborate with cross-functional teams in production, quality, engineering, and supply chain to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

What you'll do:

  • Design, implement and maintain the production schedule to meet customer requirements
  • Assist in the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data to solve complex problems
  • Develop factory and equipment cell layouts, and carry out workflow analysis
  • Assess the impact of changes on cost, schedule, resources, and delivery for new or revised work packages
  • Create, gather and analyze production performance metrics
  • Implement processes and tools to improve schedule performance, lower costs, and enhance quality
  • Maintain shop floor time standards and resource forecast models for equipment and staffing
  • Communicate and present effectively with team members and leadership to share data, plans, and results

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field, or equivalent
  • 5 years industrial experience
  • Advanced Excel skills such as Power Query and advanced formulas
  • Strong communication skills at all levels

Desirable:

  • Experience in production planning and scheduling using SAP or equivalent ERP software
  • Ability to create scripts in SQL (Teradata)
  • Experience creating and maintaining data visualization metrics using tableau, Power BI or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience with lean manufacturing / process improvement
