About the role:This is a limited term 3 year post hosted by Multipave Limited and the University of Lancashire. The aim of the project is to create sustainable surfacing solutions by integrating low-carbon materials for use in premium road construction. The project will deliver a new generation of high-performance sustainable surfacing products while building long-term innovation capability within the business. A key focus will be advancing understanding of road-surfacing material chemistry to identify and validate renewable alternatives that meet demanding performance standards, reduce reliance on virgin aggregates, and ultimately eliminate the use of fossil-derived bitumen. Working within the Research Development and Innovation Division, this is a 36-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the company at an exciting stage in their development.

About you:We are looking for a candidate with experience in chemical engineering, analytical chemistry or organic chemistry, as well as familiarity with a range of scientific instrumentation and analytical techniques. Utilising excellent literacy and numeracy skills and a methodical approach to work, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of successful project work. The successful candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with wide range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Analytical or Organic Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
