Job Description

Hours of work: 30 per week.
Working pattern: Full-time, term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave).
As the position is term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata.

Mayfield Church of England Primary School is seeking a full-time Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to work the following hours each day:

8.45am to 3.15pm (This includes a half an hour unpaid lunchbreak).

This role involves working 1:1 with a KS1 child with additional needs, helping them to thrive in our inclusive school setting. As such the role is on a permanent basis subject to the child remaining on roll at the school.

Mayfield CEP currently has 131 children on roll.

We are one of four schools who belong to The Weald Federation, which was formed in 2019 and have a strong caring community.

We are looking for a practitioner who is:

  • Experienced in working with SEND pupils in primary education.
  • Understanding of SEND needs and has a commitment to inclusion.
  • Has a good understanding of children's early development.
  • Positive, calm, resilient and pro-active.
  • Committed to a Therapeutic Thinking Approach to behaviour management to ensure pupil safety, positive self-esteem and access to learning opportunities.
  • Able to work well both independently and within a supportive team.
  • Highly motivated, flexible and creative.
  • Able to foster and maintain positive, professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • Reflective and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Able to maintain efficient record keeping systems.
  • Strong in verbal and written communication.
