Job Description

Take the lead in overseeing end-to-end logistics operations for a thriving wine company. As Operations Manager, you'll manage warehouse and stock control functions, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, handling, and delivery of company products. You'll be responsible for fleet management, driver performance, and health & safety compliance while collaborating across departments to optimize logistics efficiency.

Key Purpose of the Role

  • Responsible for the management, organisation, planning and co-ordination of all activities and resources necessary for the efficient receipt, storage, handling and delivery of Company product

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining health & safety levels to legal standards, as a minimum, for the site and all Jascots logistics activities and personnel

Report to line manager on spend-vs-budget for the logistics function

Line manager for the Warehouse Manager

Line manager for the Stock Control Manager

Allocate drivers to correct routes to ensure legal compliance and maximum customer service levels

Ensure pre-brief & de-briefings are undertaken at start of shift and end of shift for all drivers

Manage driver performance to achieve 1st class standards of customer service

Ensure all relevant information is recorded and reported for transport KPIs

Liaise with other departments, on site and external, for planning and labour allocation

Organise service and maintenance of vehicles in line with legal requirements

Manage team hours in line with working time legislation

Ensure transport documentation and records are managed in line with relevant legislation in preparation for transport audits

Actively manage absence rates in collaboration with the HR department

Undertake disciplinary investigations and resulting actions as appropriate, in collaboration with the HR department

Chair daily and weekly team meetings to discuss performance, plans and targets for the site

Responsible for day-to-day building compliance, maintenance incl. monthly fabrication checks and reporting of faults

Responsible for service contracts and annual inspections i.e., pest control, maintaining fire equipment and routine compliance

Plan, manage and track all onsite training activities

Responsible for the environmental impact of the site incl. monitoring and recording energy use

Manage all site training activity to ensure legal and H&S standards

Person Specification

Previous experience of managing a transport multi drop function

Previous experience of managing a warehouse and stock control

Extensive people-management experience

Experience of data-led decision making

In depth geographical knowledge of London and surrounding areas

Health & Safety management

Computer literacy of industry standard software packages
