What you will do
  • Chair statutory Looked After Child reviews, ensuring meetings are child-centred and compliant with the Children Act 1989 and IRO Handbook
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of care plans, ensuring timely progression towards permanence and improved outcomes
  • Provide independent oversight and challenge to social work practice, escalating concerns regarding drift, delay, or safeguarding risks
  • Ensure children and young people's wishes and feelings are fully captured, advocated for, and reflected in care planning
Person Specification
  • Qualifications include a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Post qualifying training in childcare, safeguarding, or leadership being desirable
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 / 2004
  • Strong working knowledge of Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010
  • Strong working knowledge of the IRO Handbook and statutory guidance
