The Yorkshire County Cricket Club Limited (the Club) is delighted to open applications for an Independent Non-Executive Director to join its Board of Directors. This is a pivotal and compelling time to become part of the leadership of one of the world's most famous and successful cricket clubs, and the home of the premier international cricket venue, Headingley Cricket Ground.

Role Overview

As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a key role in shaping the Club's strategic direction and ensuring the highest standards of governance and integrity are upheld.

Reporting & remuneration

Reports to: Chair
Remuneration: Expenses only
Term: Three years
Commitment: Approximately 2 days a month (Board meetings, sub committee meetings and hosting at home matches)
Location: Headingley Cricket Club

Responsibilities

• Shape the Club's strategic direction and long term vision.
• Ensure the highest standards of governance and integrity are upheld.
• Attend Board meetings (in person whenever possible).
• Participate in sub committee meetings, which are typically a hybrid of in person and virtual attendance.
• Host & represent the Club at home matches.

Key Attributes and Experience

• Previous Board and stakeholder management experience is desirable.
• Proven commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and a deep understanding of the needs of Yorkshire's communities.
• Knowledge of governance structures and regulatory frameworks, ideally within UK sporting bodies or similar organisations.
• Ability to operate effectively in a high profile environment, with sound judgement around communications, press, and reputation management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to absorb complex information and provide balanced, informed guidance and challenge.
