Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our Independent Living Support Service.

Independent Living Services (ILS) support vulnerable adults to live independently at home and connected to their communities, through tailored information, advice and support - enabling people to take control of their own lives.

About the job
  • You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining good relations with clients, being the key contact through their time of entry to and exit from the Independent Living Support Services.
  • You will be responsible for collecting financial and all other relevant information from service users or their representatives relevant to their service needs and referrals.
  • You will undertake the financial assessment and reassessment to determine the individual service user's ability to contribute to relevant services and identify entitlement to all types of benefits, and assist with applications to maximise income.
  • You will liaise with other service areas, agencies and establishments to ensure the client's needs are addressed and delivered.
  • You will take ownership of client cases and liaise with relevant officers regarding delivery of services.
  • You will evaluate the end delivery of service and inform management of areas of concern/improvement, ensuring service area targets are achieved.
What We Are Looking For From You
  • Experience working with or understanding the needs of vulnerable adults, and experience of income assessment and benefit maximisation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, act and inform.
  • Ability to form partnerships with internal and external services and organisations.
  • Spending the majority of time interacting with customers and responding to their requests and queries.
  • Ability to work face to face with clients using strong communication, decision making and analytical skills to ensure a timely and responsive service.
  • Knowledge of other languages, in particular Welsh and other community languages, is an advantage.
