Help shape the future of Buckinghamshire New University - join us as an Independent Member of Council

BNU is a modern university, with a proud 130-year heritage of transforming our students' lives.

We're looking to appoint a new Independent (lay) Member to our University Council - the governing body responsible for shaping the educational character and strategic direction of BNU. Our governing body plays a vital role in ensuring accountability across all aspects of university life. It oversees financial probity, employment policy and the corporate frameworks that guide how we operate. You'll help shape decisions that influence thousands of students, staff and partners, ensuring BNU continues to deliver real social and economic impact.

Now is an especially exciting time to be joining the University Council. It's a pivotal moment for BNU. In spring 2026 we'll launch our new strategic framework focused on delivering outstanding student outcomes, growing our research impact, developing talent and building a future-ready university.

We're especially interested to hear from candidates with experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, and start-ups.
