What's the role about?

We're looking for a proactive and detail oriented Inbound Operations Supervisor to join our Logistics team and support the smooth flow of inbound shipments across our global supply chain. This is a hands on, fast paced role focused on coordinating the movement of goods from international suppliers into our UK and US distribution centres, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and on time delivery.

With a strong emphasis on shipment consolidation and operational excellence, you'll work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to optimise shipping performance, manage key systems and documentation, and support cost effective decision making across inbound logistics.

Who you are
  • Experience in a logistics or shipping role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong computer skills, including confident use of Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with freight forwarder systems is advantageous.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions.
  • Highly organised, with strong planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and appropriate escalation.
What you'll be doing
  • Manage inbound shipments, including approvals and use of freight forwarder systems within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain and update PLM systems, ensuring accuracy and timely data management.
  • Ensure all shipment documentation is complete prior to arrival and raise any missing information or samples.
  • Monitor shipment timelines to ensure goods depart on time to meet launch deadlines.
  • Execute inbound forecasts, using them to guide shipment approvals and volume planning.
  • Track container utilisation against targets and make informed decisions on underutilised shipments.
  • Monitor supplier compliance and raise delays or performance issues where required.
  • Support cost and routing decisions, including facilitating new routes, recommending freight method changes, and coordinating ad hoc quotes.
What we offer
  • Competitive salary and company bonus.
  • Up to 65% employee discount.
  • Access to exclusive sample sales.
  • Aviva DigiCare+ wellbeing services.
  • Medicash health support plan.
  • Workplace pension contributions.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
  • Cycle to Work programme.
  • Season ticket travel loan.
  • Plus further workplace benefits.
