Your Role
As a HTA Manager, you will:
- Lead complex HTA submissions to JCVI, NICE, SMC, and AWMSG from start to finish.
- Establish and guide a core HTA working group, defining strategy and achieving internal sign-off.
- Source, interpret, and generate clinical and economic data to underpin submissions and inform early pipeline strategy.
- Ensure all submissions are completed and signed off in a timely fashion to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Champion above-brand reimbursement and HTA environment-shaping projects, partnering across global HEOR, medical, and corporate affairs.
- Communicate complex economic concepts clearly and impactfully to internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Partnership
- Guide the implementation of HEOR evidence generation strategies to support the value proposition of medicine or vaccine assets.
- Partner with market access, medical, and commercial teams to align HEOR activities with end-to-end market access strategy.
- Serve as an ambassador for Access & Value (A&V) internally and externally.
- Lead above-brand HTA reimbursement projects to inform and shape future submissions.
Health Economics
- Design and develop health economic models, including technical vendor management for complex models (including infectious disease/vaccines and medicines).
- Build early economic models to inform early pipeline strategy
- Manage HTA submission strategies for NICE, SMC, or JCVI.
- Partner with HTA, market access, and RWE/outcomes colleagues to develop asset evaluations, robust value propositions, and negotiation packages.
- Provide technical input into outcome study designs, RWE collection, economic models, evidence synthesis projects, pricing, and HTA readiness activities.
- Monitor NICE and JCVI websites for decisions and trends to inform and shape submissions.
- Support development of high-quality extracts, manuscripts, value storyboards, and HTA submission dossiers.
Quality Assurance
- Identify and address areas of uncertainty in HTA submissions to achieve recommendations.
- Conduct regular review points and embed learnings within the HTA team.
Role Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics or Outcomes Research or Infectious disease modelling
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in all aspects of several HTA submissions to JCVI, NICE & SMC
- Experience of designing, building, and adapting health economics models for infectious disease and/or vaccines (preferable) and medicines
- Significant experience of conducting evidence generation (SLRs, NMAs, ITCs)
- Thorough understanding of the UK healthcare system
Skills
- Strong research skills, with ability to build, adapt and critique health economic models and source data inputs. Experience working with infectious disease/vaccine models preferred
- Existence of, or ability to develop, internal and external networks
- Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to manage own time and others time to meet deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good communication skills, with the ability to describe complex information to non-technical experts
Work Location Assignment: Hybrid (some office presence is required)
