Our HSSU (Hospital Sterile Services Unit) plays a vital role in transporting sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to the local hospital network. As an HSSU Coordinator at our Glasgow Hospital, you'll combine basic computer literacy with strong organisation skills. From processing used surgical instruments for dispatch to receiving sterile surgical equipment and supporting our friendly theatre team - you'll ensure everything runs smoothly.

Decontamination qualification and experience within a decontamination setting is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Move and handle trays and items of various weights and sizes
• Be competent in following strict infection prevention standards for the decontamination of endoscopic equipment
• Maintain accurate records and keep documentation up to date
• Dispose of contaminated waste in accordance with hospital policy
• Regularly check that equipment is in good working order and report all faults
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
• Take action to rectify problems and escalating issues where necessary
