  • Drive a strong behavioural safety culture, engaging employees and leadership teams across the business
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring robust monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, providing insights and trend analysis to senior leadership
  • Manage environmental compliance across manufacturing operations, including waste, emissions, energy, and water usage
  • Lead environmental initiatives such as energy efficiency and sustainability improvement projects
  • Develop, coach, and manage HSE and facilities team members, driving high performance and engagement
  • Deliver HSE training, inductions, and awareness programmes across all levels of the organisation
  • Collaborate with HR and Occupational Health to support health surveillance and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Act as the key point of contact for external regulators and stakeholders
  • Support operational teams to ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained
What you will need to succeed:
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety management role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing and managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and influence teams across multiple levels of the organisation
  • Strong experience in audits, risk assessments, and incident investigation
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex operational environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
  • Membership of IOSH
  • Experience within advanced manufacturing, engineering, or high tech environments
  • Experience leading environmental monitoring programmes (e.g. dust, noise, air quality)
