A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an HSE Advisor to join the team with our prestigious client GKN at their Global Technology Centre in Filton
Role ProfileAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an HSE advisor at the Global Technology Centre UK (GTC-UK) based in Patchway. The successful candidate will support the site HSE Lead in ensuring that the GTC-UK is operationally compliant with all GKN's HSE policies and procedures along with current legislation.The role involves working on a varied portfolio of projects across multiple disciplines so a flexible and dynamic approach is essential. This role will also offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to grow their skills and knowledge through working on cutting edge technology & engineering projects by supporting the projects through machinery installations, development activities and operational process control.The role is ideally suited to a candidate with a pro-active, 'can do' and flexible approach to work. The role will also offer the opportunity for the candidate to support the implementation of industry recognised accreditations at the Global Technology Centre.In this critical role, you will:
Support the HSE Lead as directed with day to day operational activities and specific project related tasks
Implement GKN Aerospace HSE policies and procedures throughout the site.
Complete and maintain required HSE documentation including risk assessments.
Report and manage all incidents on HSE data collection system.
Provide reports as required on site HSE performance.
Ensure accurate and complete tracking of internal HSE metrics, plans, record keeping and corrective actions.
Working with the technology teams and equipment suppliers, ensure that all relevant GKN HSE requirements are captured in the respective GTC equipment specifications. Ensure employees are trained and competent in relation to HSE.
Ensure statutory compliance of the site. Support the area Custodians in achieving green status in their Custodian HUD's. Support Health and Safety and Environmental site certifications as required. Support the HSE Audit function.
Essential Skills- HSE qualification at certificate level (NEBOSH certificate or equivalent) within appropriate discipline.
- Experience in Health, Safety and Environment, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of industry, national and local HSE requirements.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with ability to lead and influence.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Understanding of ISO certifications (14001, 50001, 45001).
