Job Description

Smile Education arecurrently recruiting an experienced HROfficer to startimmediately at awelcoming further educationcollege in Solihull.

The successful applicantwill be responsibleforproviding comprehensiveHR support acrossthe college, ensuringHR processes aredelivered efficiently andin linewith employment legislationand college policies. This will includesupporting recruitmentand onboarding, maintainingemployee records, advisingmanagerson HR procedures, coordinating absence managementprocesses, and respondingto general HRenquiries.

This is anexcellent opportunity tojoin a supportiveand professional HRteam withina well-establishedfurther education college. The expected salaryrange for therole is between£16.00 - £18.00 perhour, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing day-to-day HR administrativeand advisory support.
  • Coordinating recruitment, selection, and onboardingactivities.
  • Preparing contracts, offer letters, and employment documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate employeerecords and HRdatabases.
  • Supporting managers withabsence, disciplinary, grievance, and capability procedures.
  • Assisting with payrolladministration and contractualchanges.
  • Ensuring compliancewith employment legislation, safeguarding, and saferrecruitment practices.
  • Responding to HRqueries from staffandmanagers in atimely and professionalmanner.
  • Producing HR reportsand workforce datafor senior management.
  • Supporting employee wellbeing, training, and developmentinitiatives.
  • Working collaborativelywith managers andexternal agencies whererequired.
The Ideal CandidateWill:
  • Have previous experienceworking within anHR Officeror HR Advisorrole.
  • Hold or beworking towards aCIPD qualification (Level3 orLevel 5 desirable).
  • Have a soundunderstanding of UKemployment law andHR best practice.
  • Be highlyorganised with excellentattention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent communicationand interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to manage confidential informationwith discretion andprofessionalism.
  • Have strong ITskills, including MicrosoftOffice and HRinformationsystems.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and able toprioritise a variedworkload.

We are lookingfor applicants withprevious experience withina Human Resourcesenvironment, ideally gainedwithin education, thepublic sector, ora similarly regulatedorganisation. Experiencesupporting recruitment,employeerelations, HR administration, and maintaining HRsystems is highlydesirable.
