Schelstraete Delacourt is the exclusive recruitment partner for this key role at Demant. We are supporting the fast-growing Belgian team of Demant, a global leader in hearing healthcare and audio technology, in the search for a strategic yet hands-on Senior HR Manager.
Demant is a global hearing healthcare and audio technology group. In every aspect, from providing hearing care and delivering hearing aids to diagnostic equipment and services to hearing care professionals and users all over the world.
In Belgium, Demant was basically run like a start-up 4 years ago but developed extremely fast through very high organic growth, acquisitions & new business, with now 190 colleagues in 2 companies with brands like Audika, Oticon, Bernafon & Medrex. That means opportunity to further evolve to a more mature approach in the various aspects of our business. From our local head office in Leuven, we provide support for both businesses in finance, ICT and HR.
As our current HR Manager moves to a different role in the company, we are looking for a:
SENIOR HR MANAGER
This role is critical in our mission to deliver the highest quality customer care, business objectives & high employee engagement. You will report to the local GM and be part of the local management team. You will also be the local HR SPOC for Corporate HR & the 2 Global Business Unit HR partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies based on the company goals & regulations
- Lead, mentor and develop the HR & training/coaching team to ensure a consistent, high level and continuously improving service delivery. Specific focus is process improvement
- Oversee all HR initiatives, manage employee relations, HR policies, procedures and programs to drive the company forward & ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager Belgiu and business partner to the management team
- Be an active member of the local management team
- Support leadership in organizational development, performance management & employee relations like identifying talent gaps, recruitment, onboarding, training/coaching, retention & succession planning
- Guide HR data, metrics, reporting and analysis to help decision-making (turnover, absenteeism, time to fill, engagement, etc.)
- Champion a positive, highly engaged - great place to work - and performance workplace culture based on our core values through proactive engagement and communication
- Network effectively and participate in global meetings to learn and share best practices
- Serve as the point of contact for employment relations and communicate with labor unions
- In a fast-paced company like ours, operational day-to-day work also needs to be done at this level
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Trilingual: French, Dutch, English
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role and being part of a management team
- Demonstrated leadership skills and strategic thinking
- Business acumen partnered with attention to the human element
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build trust & influence across all levels
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS systems like SAP SuccessFactors
- Current location policy: minimum 2 days per week in the Leuven HQ
Preferred Experience
- Retail & B2B HR management experience; health retail experience is a plus
- Experience in a fast-paced corporate environment or rapidly growing company
- Familiarity with change management frameworks and organizational development strategies
