Job Description
- Lead the development of a practical framework to support the Marine Institute's compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, aligned with the organisation's competency and capability framework and wider HR priorities.
- Work collaboratively with the HR team and relevant stakeholders to review existing grading structures and map current grades to agreed responsibility, competency and capability levels, ensuring a consistent and transparent approach across the organisation.
- Review existing policies, procedures and practices relating to recruitment, pay progression and equal pay governance, and support the development of documentation that reflects current arrangements and promotes transparency and compliance.
- Identify the organisational, policy, governance and operational actions required to implement the EU Pay Transparency Directive, taking account of legislative requirements, organisational priorities, and best practice.
- Assess implementation risks, dependencies and resource considerations, and develop practical recommendations to support compliance, monitoring and ongoing governance arrangements.
- Support the development of a communication and stakeholder engagement approach to facilitate awareness, understanding and effective implementation of pay transparency requirements across the organisation.
- Produce the required framework, supporting documentation, guidance materials, templates and recommendations to support the Marine Institute's implementation of, and ongoing compliance with, the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
- A relevant third-level qualification (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, Organisational Development, Reward Management, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
- Specialist knowledge, professional accreditation and/or relevant training in equal pay, job evaluation, reward management, gender pay gap reporting, employment legislation or a related area would be advantageous.
- Significant experience in human resources, reward, organisational development, workforce planning, job evaluation, equality, governance and/or employment policy, with a strong understanding of pay and reward frameworks within a complex organisational environment.
- Knowledge of the EU Pay Transparency Directive and related equal pay, transparency and compliance requirements, with the ability to support organisations in preparing for legislative and regulatory change.
- Proven ability to interpret legislative and policy requirements and translate them into practical organisational frameworks, governance arrangements, policies, procedures and implementation plans.
- Experience in the development and application of competency, capability and grading frameworks, including the alignment of organisational structures, responsibilities, and workforce capability requirements.
- Demonstrates strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with HR teams, managers, and senior leaders to achieve organisational objectives.
