About the Role:
The HR Cost Analyst is responsible for analysing, forecasting, and reporting on labour and HR-related costs to support strategic workforce planning and budget management. This role partners with HR, Finance, and department leaders to provide insights on employee-related expenses, compensation trends, benefits utilisation, and headcount planning, ensuring alignment with organisational goals
Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse and track workforce costs, including salaries, benefits, incentives, and other employee-related expenditures
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual HR cost reports and forecasts
- Identify cost trends, risks, and opportunities related to HR spending
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual HR budget process in collaboration with Finance and HR Business Partners
- Forecast future labour and benefits costs based on trends, organisational growth, and economic indicators
Headcount & Workforce Planning
- Track and report on headcount, turnover, and workforce changes
- Support workforce planning initiatives by modelling cost impacts of hiring plans, reorganisations, and restructures
Compensation & Benefits Analysis
- Evaluate compensation trends and support benchmarking and salary review processes
- Analyse benefits, utilisation, and cost-effectiveness; provide recommendations for cost optimisation
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure data integrity and support internal/external audits with labour cost data
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with labour laws and data privacy regulations
Tools & Process Improvement
- Develop and enhance dashboards, KPIs, and data models using Excel, HRIS, and analytics tools
- Drive process improvements and automation in HR cost reporting and analysis
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, SHRM-CP, CCP) is a plus
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, or HR analytics, preferably in a corporate HR or finance environment
Required Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- English Mandatory, French is a plus
