HR Business Partner - UPMC Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny (Permanent)
Overview of roleAs a UPMC HR Business Partner you will undertake a broad range of HR related responsibilities, working closely with the HR Business Partnering Team and reporting to the Head of Business Partnering. You will manage administrative and strategic HR tasks, provide best in class support for onboarding, administer pay, benefits, leave, and enforce company policies and practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Work with business leaders and colleagues to create an environment of trust, dignity, and respect, aligning behaviours to UPMC values.
- Be the first point of contact for all HR queries, providing superior customer service in line with employment law and internal policies.
- Work closely with managers to ensure probationary periods are managed effectively and administer benefits, including time and attendance and pension.
- Liaise with payroll monthly to coordinate payroll notifications and ensure the payroll department is informed of relevant changes throughout the employee life cycle.
- Case manage internal employee relations matters.
- Monitor absenteeism in conjunction with department managers, ensuring adherence to the absenteeism management procedure and managing long term absence cases.
- Manage occupational health reviews and referrals in line with company procedures.
- Liaise with management to ensure the performance management review cycle is implemented.
- Keep employee data updated and maintained in line with GDPR requirements, responding to requests under the same.
- Deliver an effective, efficient, and professional HR service.
- Apply and adhere to HR processes consistently and fairly.
- Maintain openness to feedback and commit to agreed performance and behavioural changes.
- Behave at all times with the highest ethical standards, ensuring dignity and respect to all.
- Perform any other duties assigned by your manager for which you have reasonable knowledge and training.
- Work with administrators to keep HR systems updated and maintained.
- Assist managers in embedding internal policies and procedures consistently.
- Mediation and facilitation of issue resolution; manage long term absence cases.
- Assist with preparations of audits from external bodies.
- Occasionally travel between UPMC sites while working within business hours.
- 2+ years of relevant experience at a business partner level.
- Degree or equivalent third level qualification in Business or Human Resources.
- Desirable: CIPD qualification.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to fast paced environments.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
- Integrity and confidentiality.
