Housing Co-ordinator

Right now, we are looking for a Part Time Housing Coordinator to play a pivotal role in our Housing Service across multiple locations including Ealing, Brent, Croydon, Hackney/Tower Hamlets, Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As a Housing Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring that Hestia's refuge accommodation is safe, secure, welcoming, and well maintained for the people we support. Working closely with Housing Managers, Housing Officers, and Domestic Abuse refuge teams, you will oversee the day-to-day housing management of several properties, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and Hestia's Psychologically Informed Physical Environment (PIPE) standards.

You will coordinate repairs and maintenance, liaise with contractors, monitor building-related contracts, oversee utilities, and ensure communal and outdoor spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming. The role also involves managing void properties by coordinating cleaning, repairs, furniture replacement, and preparing rooms for new residents to ensure accommodation can be allocated quickly and efficiently.

A key aspect of the role is promoting the safety and wellbeing of residents. You will lead on health and safety inspections, fire safety checks and drills, support residents to understand building procedures, and respond appropriately to any health and safety concerns. You will also maintain accurate records, support rent and housing benefit processes, work collaboratively with colleagues across services, and build positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders and neighbours to ensure Hestia properties remain positive and respected spaces within the community.

What do I need to bring with me?

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working within a housing environment and a good understanding of health and safety requirements within supported housing or refuge settings. You will be confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records, with strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and external partners. You will have basic maintenance skills, the ability to work independently, strong organisational and time management skills, and a commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion. You will also be comfortable travelling between accommodation sites and working sensitively with people who may have experienced crisis or trauma. Knowledge of safeguarding practices, housing management systems, and experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams will be highly valued.
