Tewkesbury Borough Council is offering an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in our community - and that someone could be you.

As our new Housing Advice Team Leader, you'll play a central role in shaping and supporting a committed team working on the frontline of homelessness prevention. Could you thrive in a fast paced environment? Do you enjoy leading people? Do you have a genuine passion for helping households in crisis? This could be the perfect next step in your career.

In this role, you'll bring your leadership skills to a team that is passionate about delivering person centred, trauma informed support. You'll help ensure people receive quick, compassionate assessments and tailored plans that address their individual needs. You'll also work closely with key partners - from the Gloucestershire Housing Partnership Team to Mental Health, Substance Misuse, and Outreach services - giving you the chance to influence and strengthen the pathways that support local households.

We are offering a role where you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and inspire the Housing Advice Team on a daily basis
  • Manage workloads, set clear goals, and help maintain high service standards
  • Coach and support team members to grow in confidence, resilience, and skill
  • Ensure households receive quick, person centred triage and advice
  • Work collaboratively with partner organisations to create smoother, more effective support pathways
  • Champion homelessness prevention and drive positive outcomes for our customers

We're looking for someone who can bring strong partnership experience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to support a team working with complex situations. If you're someone who leads with empathy, communicates clearly, and enjoys working creatively to help people overcome challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
