Buckinghamshire College Group is looking for a Housekeeping Operative (Cleaner) to join our friendly and supportive housekeeping team at our Amersham Campus. This is a part-time, permanent role working 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, ideal for someone seeking stable hours in a professional education environment.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys working independently, managing their time effectively, and contributing to a safe and hygienic environment for students, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Dusting, damp wiping, polishing, and vacuuming
- Dry and wet mopping using colour-coded systems
- Cleaning toilets, showers, basins, walls, and glass
- Machine scrubbing, buffing, and spray cleaning
- Refuse removal and safe disposal
- Using cleaning equipment, materials, and eco-friendly products correctly and safely
- Following daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules
- Responding promptly to requests and reporting any issues or faulty equipment
- Adhering strictly to health & safety and manual handling procedures
- Working flexibly across college sites when required
The successful candidate will:
- Have general cleaning experience within a commercial environment
- Promote and deliver outstanding customer service
- Ability to manage own time effectively
- Work flexibly across our sites, as and when needed.
- Awareness of Health and Safety regulations relating to the use of cleaning agents and Eco-friendly cleaning products
- Work alongside a friendly housekeeping team
