You will be offered a variety of shifts and successful candidates must therefore have a flexible approach and be able to work on a rota basis. The rate of pay for casual work is £9.55 to £12.75 per hour depending on your age.

About the role

To ensure that all housekeeping areas within the hotel are cleaned and presented to the Hastings Standard for the greatest enjoyment of our guests.

• To clean and service bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas of the hotel. Typical tasks include vacuuming, mopping, cleaning toilets, stripping and making beds.
• To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.
• To always maintain the security of bedrooms and stock, immediately reporting any breaches and dealing with lost property in accordance with company procedures.
• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
• To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
• Greeting guests and responding to their queries.
• To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.
• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Any other duties as required by management.

Required Criteria

• Right to Work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Ability to deliver an exceptional standard of customer service

Desired Criteria

• Educated to GCSE standard or the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths.
• Previous professional cleaning or hospitality experience.
