Housekeeping Assistant
Salary: Highly competitive, dependent on experience and skills (£12.30) + Benefits
Hours: Full-time, permanent (40 hours per week,) - will also consider casual/zero hours and part time
Based at Ampleforth Abbey YO62 - 5 days over 7 per week(based on site)
Working Monday to Friday in the first instance

We are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant who will embrace the opportunity to work in a charitable organisation preparing rooms and areas for guests and visitors.
Main Responsibilities but not limited to:-
- Working as part of the housekeeping team providing an efficient and effective service to a broad range of customers, understanding their needs and working to meet these wherever possible
- Undertaking Housekeeping duties in all areas of the Trust to cater for the community and guests, in a polite and helpful manner
- Maintaining the cleanliness of all areas carrying out work activities in adherence to the area specific cleaning schedule or rota
- Self- management to ensure best use of time and resources
- Carrying out Low Use Flushing as required and recording it appropriately
- Reporting of accidents and near misses
- Liaising with laundry to ensure all needs are met
- Ensuring sufficient stock levels of chemicals and consumables are maintained and reported
- Pre-start checks on equipment to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the area
- Adherence to Safe Systems of Work, PPE, COSHH, Risk Assessments and Manual Handling
- Reporting any maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Preparing for, and assisting at, special functions and setting up meeting rooms (as and when required)
- Presenting Ampleforth Abbey Trust in a positive light, assisting in the retention and growth of all business areas
- Assisting colleagues in the delivery of a first-class service with due regard for legal, financial and time constraints
- Attending training sessions and meetings as required
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required in line with capabilities, the needs of the Trust, and the wider group.
Experience
You will have:
- Experience of housekeeping or Front of House duties - not essential
- Some understanding of health and safety procedures
