Role Overview

Housekeeping & Cleaning Assistants are responsible for delivering cleaning and housekeeping services, including the cleaning and servicing of student bedrooms, bathrooms, guest accommodation, facilities, offices and common areas of the College used by students and commercial customers. No previous cleaning experience is required; full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain agreed standards of cleanliness and hygiene across student bedrooms, bathrooms, guest accommodation, facilities, offices and common areas.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and use protective equipment as required.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, responding to tasks and instructions from supervisors.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet scheduled cleaning duties and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues and visitors regarding cleaning services.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
Typical Role Requirements
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Basic digital/internet and e mail skills.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience working in a team.
  • Ability to manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Working Hours

Variable shift patterns including evenings and weekends; primarily Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. Contracts are up to five days per week with variable days worked.
