Overview

A warm and welcoming family based in Hampton is seeking an exceptional Child-Friendly Housekeeper to take full responsibility for the care and presentation of their five-bedroom, five-bathroom, three-storey family home.

This is a long term position for an experienced private household housekeeper who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully run home. The role is approximately 95% housekeeping and 5% child related support, making it ideally suited to a candidate whose strengths lie in high quality housekeeping, laundry care, garment care, wardrobe management and household organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home is consistently maintained to an exceptional standard, while helping the household run smoothly and efficiently on a day to day basis.

The family would love to find someone who is warm, trustworthy, reliable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and a positive, can do attitude. They are seeking a long term housekeeper who will take genuine pride in the home and become a valued and trusted part of the household for many years to come.

The family's two daughters, aged 14 and 11, are polite, independent and a pleasure to be around. Child related duties are minimal and largely limited to occasional support when required.

Key Responsibilities Housekeeping

• Maintaining the family home to an exceptionally high standard at all times
• Daily cleaning, tidying and organisation throughout the property
• Caring for furniture, fixtures, appliances, fine surfaces and household items
• Comprehensive laundry care including washing, ironing, steaming, garment care and wardrobe management
• Bed making and changing household linens
• Maintaining cupboards, storage areas and household systems in an organised manner
• Monitoring household supplies and replenishing stock as required
• Care and maintenance of household appliances, including routine cleaning and descaling
• Watering indoor and outdoor plants
• Proactively identifying tasks that require attention and taking ownership of them

Household Management

• Keeping track of household requirements and supplies
• Liaising with and supervising tradespeople and service providers
• Running occasional household errands
• Assisting with occasional meal preparation
• Helping ensure the household runs smoothly and efficiently at all times

Child Related Support (Approximately 5%)

• Occasional school drop offs and pick ups
• Occasional babysitting by prior arrangement

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Have substantial experience working as a private household housekeeper
• Be confident managing a home independently
• Take pride in maintaining exceptionally high housekeeping standards
• Have excellent laundry, ironing and wardrobe management skills
• Be organised, efficient and proactive
• Be warm, professional, cheerful and approachable
• Be trustworthy, reliable and discreet
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Have a proven track record of longevity within previous private household roles
• Be flexible when occasional additional support is required
• Hold a full driving licence and have use of their own car
• Be a non smoker
• Be seeking a long term position with one family

While flexibility is occasionally required, this is not a position with regularly changing hours. Any additional babysitting or extra hours would normally be discussed and agreed in advance, with time off in lieu offered by mutual agreement.
