Term Time Only Contract - 42 weeks at 35 hours per week

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Manchester Metropolitan University within the Commercial Services department on its journey to become the leading commercial services team in the sector and to support the University's ambition of becoming the best modern university in the UK.

The Hospitality Supervisor will play a vital role in supporting the development of the Commercial Services department. The post holder will:

  • Provide day-to-day supervision of the University's hospitality service across campus, supporting the provision of delivered food and beverage to internal and external clients.

  • Lead by example as a role model for front-of-house staff, assisting with food and beverage service when required while maintaining an overview of the hospitality operation to ensure quality, speed of service and high standards.

  • Ensure excellent customer service to all our clients.

  • Oversee and maintain the appearance and presentation of the hospitality service.

About you

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, confident, detail-oriented and capable individual with proven experience of delivering consistently high-quality, customer-focused service, preferably within a university environment. You will have experience of working in a fast-paced hospitality setting with the ability to adapt to different hospitality contexts.

In addition, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to customer needs. Previous experience of supervising front-line teams and strong communication skills to liaise with a wide range of colleagues and departments are essential.

About the department

Responsible for delivering food and beverage across the university campus, the current in-house team provides retail, catering and hospitality services across a range of outlets and locations.
