Exceptional plant knowledge? Passionate about improving growing systems and raising standards?

Ready to join a forward thinking horticultural business where innovation and quality come first?

This role will place you right at the heart of growing operations, compliance and product development. If you're confident in plant production, enjoy problem solving, and want to help shape the technical future of a modern nursery, this could be the step you're looking for.

What's the job?

You'll work across growing, technical, compliance and innovation, ensuring crops are produced to the highest standard while supporting the wider production team.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Leading and supporting the growing team with daily husbandry tasks - watering, spraying and monitoring crop health
  • Ensuring crops meet strict quality standards and remain pest and disease free through effective biological and chemical programmes
  • Managing compliance across APHA, SMETA, LEAF and OHAS, keeping documentation accurate and up to date
  • Working closely with suppliers, customers and industry bodies, representing the business professionally at HTA, BOA, NFU and similar groups
  • Overseeing growing equipment, reviewing processes and trialling new techniques or technologies to drive efficiency and quality
  • Supporting apprentices and helping develop the next generation of growers through coaching and hands on guidance

This is a hands on role for someone who thrives on being visible in the nursery and enjoys everything from practical problem solving to big picture thinking.

What do I need?
  • Exceptional plant knowledge and commercial growing experience
  • Experience in a plant production environment (ornamentals ideal, but open)
  • Strong understanding of APHA, SMETA, LEAF & OHAS compliance
  • Confident communication skills across all levels
  • Experience leading teams and supporting their development
  • A curious, solutions focused mindset with the confidence to challenge mediocrity
  • The ability to represent the business professionally at industry bodies

If you've worked in technical, operational or senior growing roles and want to broaden your impact, this is the perfect move.

What's on offer?
  • Competitive salary DOE
  • The chance to take ownership of technical and growing development
  • A role with genuine influence across operations and production
  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of modern horticulture and sustainable growing
  • Supportive senior leadership team
  • Development opportunities and long term career growth
