Job Description

We are looking for a new Honorary Treasurer for the Civic Power Fund, the pooled fund for community organising.

At the Civic Power Fund we start with a core belief: too many people cannot achieve their full potential because of who they are or where they are from. Community organising changes this by unleashing the power of people to improve their lives and achieve lasting change.

We are looking for an Honorary Treasurer who shares this belief and understands three things about our approach:

  • Civic power is the capacity of citizens to organise to win change. We are only interested in building power.
  • Organising is how we build power and it is not free. We fund organisers - sustainably, equitably and by taking our lead from them.
  • Our governance is there to support the mission. We are governed by movement builders who volunteer their governance skills so the team can execute against the mission: building lasting civic power through community organising.

With an annual income of approximately £1-2 million, we are in an exciting phase of transformation, growing our partnerships, systems, and impact.

We are serious about doing funding differently and in line with our values .

If you are too, we would love to talk.
