Make a real difference where it matters most

At ClwydAlyn, we're on a mission: Together to Beat Poverty. As a Homeless Support Officer, you'll support young people and families experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives and move towards independence.

This is a hands on, people focused role where you'll be a consistent, supportive presence overnight-helping residents feel safe, valued, and empowered.

What you'll be doing
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with residents
  • Supporting independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, tenancy management)
  • Encouraging access to education, volunteering, apprenticeships, and employment
  • Helping residents connect with key services (healthcare, mental health, benefits, substance misuse support)
  • Creating a safe, calm and supportive environment overnight
  • Keeping accurate records using IT systems
About the services
  • Crescent Court: Supporting young people (16-25) experiencing homelessness
  • Bruton Park: Supporting parents and their children to build stable futures

  • Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • A proactive, self motivated approach
  • Basic IT skills (training provided)

Relevant experience or qualifications in housing, social care, or youth work are helpful-but not essential.

The reality of the role

This role can be challenging, supporting people with complex needs-but it's also highly rewarding:

  • You'll see real change in people's lives
  • You'll help individuals build confidence and independence
  • You'll be part of a supportive, values driven team
