Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a residential children's home in Gloucester. This role is ideal for someone ready to step up into senior leadership while still working closely under an experienced Registered Manager.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, and supporting the development of both staff and young people within the home.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home
• Assist in ensuring full compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations
• Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to the staff team
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for young people
• Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
• Support staff development, training, and performance management
• Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence
• Participate in an on call rota to provide out of hours support

Requirements

• Experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting
• Good understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
• Level 3 in Residential Childcare (minimum) with willingness to work towards Level 5 (or already working towards/completed)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to support and motivate a team
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
