Higher Level Voice Services Technician

Reportingto the Voice Services Senior Engineer your role will focus on ensuringtelephony systems are maintained and supported to Trust standards

Main duties of the job

Youwill take responsibility for ensuring day to day requests for faults andchanges are attended to. Moves and changes are a daily occurrence in theTrust. As staff relocate, appropriate sockets need to be made live. This mustbe promptly attended to ensure no loss of service. Frequency of requestsvaries from two per day to thirty. This requires a logical practicalapproach.

Thepost holder will be required to operate independently and unsupervised withina framework of standards applied to the provision of Information Servicesthroughout the Trust.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent experience in a Telecoms related discipline

• Reliable team player, but also able to work on own initiative.

Additional Requirements

• Logical approach to problem solving.
• PABX Programming
• Electronics Experience
• Good organisational skills
• Able to cover operational hours and willing to participate in the On Call Rota and overtime when required.
• Able to walk long distances between communication equipment locations and be able to lift and carry equipment for long distances.

Experience

• Knowledge of voice data cabling
• A good understanding of component level electronics
• A Good understanding of a large enterprise telecoms environment, including Deployment of resilient, wide area communications
