Higher Level Teaching Assistant - 1ACE South

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school without walls covering the East Dorset and Bournemouth area. You will work with an experienced team in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible. You will provide support to teachers by assisting in our West Moors base or in the local community for children who cannot attend school, following a flexible structure to help young people unlock their passion for learning.
1 ACE (Another Chance Education) is our alternative education provision, which works with children and young people who struggle in their formal or specialised education settings. We offer education on an outreach basis. We operate within a trauma-informed practice model to support and follow therapeutic practice.

Responsibilities- Teach and support children in the community in an outreach capacity across East Dorset and Bournemouth, with a base at West Moors Youth Club.
- Provide flexible support to teachers, following a structure that helps children and young people engage with learning.
- Work within a trauma-informed practice model to support therapeutic approaches and the wellbeing of learners.
- Contribute to safeguarding and safeguarding-related processes as part of the school's provision.
- Good written and IT skills.
- Able to communicate and build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Able to actively listen to others.
- Valid Driving Licence with access to a vehicle is essential.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Experience working within a specialist education provision is desirable but not required.
Term Time: aligns with local authority. Full-time hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am - 4:30 pm. The role is full-time over five days per week; part-time or compressed hours can be discussed.
