Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial vehicle dealer group for the position of HGV Workshop Supervisor in Widnes.

This is an exceptional HGV Workshop Supervisor opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician with supervisory or leadership experience to take the next step in their career while remaining hands-on.

  • Competitive salary of £41,000 per annum, with a total earning potential of £50,000
  • Four-day working week from Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm

  • Supportive team environment within a respected dealership group Duties of a HGV Workshop Supervisor:
  • Supervise and delegate work to the technician team, ensuring quality standards are met
  • Assist in training and developing staff, including apprentices
  • Liaise effectively with other supervisors, customers, and suppliers
  • Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency as a HGV Workshop Supervisor
  • Conduct final inspections and quality checks on repair work
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members
  • Maintain accurate job card documentation and ensure proper recording of work
  • Identify training needs and support staff development
  • Flexibly manage workload to support operational targets and team success
  • Requirements of a HGV Workshop Supervisor:
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle or equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of heavy vehicles
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills with a confident professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Commitment to high standards of quality and customer service
