HGV Trailer Mechanic

GTS Transport Services have over 30 years experience in the transport industry offering a first class service to a wide range of industries. We specialise in the transport of full and part loads Ireland-GB using our extensive fleet of modern tractor units and 150+ curtainsider and box van trailers.

We are seeking to recruit a HGV Trailer Mechanic, based at our fully equipped Ballyclare Workshop.

Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:30

Responsibilities:

PSV checks and safety inspections
HGV trailer maintenance and repairs, including brake overhauls, curtain repairs, minor welding/fabrication, electrical wiring etc.
Emphasis on preventative maintenance, attention to detail and being proactive to enable the smooth running of the fleet
Maintain a clean and organised work environment
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
Complete accurate records of vehicle condition and work completed
Complete any additional training when necessary

Requirements:

Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Competent in the use of general hand and power tools
A valid driving licence
Reliable and self-motivated
Have a good command of English Language
Candidates with a mechanical/coachbuilding background welcome
