HGV Technician

Our client, a highly reputable commercial vehicle distributor with over 50 years of experience and multiple industry awards, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their busy Grantham branch. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician looking to advance their career within a well-established multi-dealer group. As an HGV Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of a diverse fleet, ensuring all repairs and maintenance meet industry standards.

• Competitive basic salary up to £40,500, depending on experience

• Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with alternating shifts (Week 1: 6am-2pm; Week 2: 2pm-10pm)

• Repair and service HGV vehicles to manufacturer and DVSA standards
• Perform diagnostic checks to identify faults
• Inspect vehicles for wear, tear, and general faults
• Complete maintenance tasks efficiently and accurately
• Conduct vehicle fault diagnosis and repairs
• Carry out vehicle inspections and safety checks
• Provide excellent customer service and communication
• Ensure all work is completed within specified deadlines
• Support the team with additional vehicle maintenance and repair duties

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in HGV Mechanics (City & Guilds qualification preferred)
• Proven experience working on HGVs
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Own set of tools suitable for HGV maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure
• Good customer service skills
