Job Title: HGV Mechanic (Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician)

Dungannon (BT71 4DP)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring all vehicles remain safe, roadworthy, and compliant with legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and rectification techniques
Perform MOT preparation and inspections to DVSA standards
Complete preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
Repair and replace mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
Accurately complete job cards, service sheets, and maintenance records
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Comply with health & safety regulations at all times
Provide breakdown support as required (if applicable)
Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Technician
Relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent)
Valid HGV driving licence (Class C or C+E) - desirable but not essential
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of DVSA regulations and vehicle safety standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and attention to detail
Desirable:
Experience working with mixed fleets
Trailer maintenance experience
IRTEC accreditation
Experience with diagnostic software
