About Us
W T Sneddon & Sons Ltd is a family run haulage contractor with a long-standing reputation for reliability and quality service. We take pride in looking after our vehicles and are now looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic.
The Role
This is a lone-working position, ideal for an experienced and self-motivated HGV Mechanic. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of HGV's and 3rd party vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant and kept to a high standard. This is a hands-on role where your skills and experience will be valued. Working independently while liasing with management as required.
Duties
Servicing, maintaining, and repairing, of HGV's
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
MOT preparation and safety inspections
Ensuring all work meets DVSA standards
Read and interpret schematics
Completing job cards and basic paperwork
Keeping the workshop clean and organised
Communicate with Drivers for any reported defects
What We're Looking For
Experience working as an HGV Mechanic / Technician
Relevant Qualifications (NVQ 3 or equivalent preferred)
Strong fault finding skills
Ability to work independently and take responsibilty
HGV licence an advantage but not essential
Reliable, Practical and Good Attitude
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
