This role involves driving a variety of vehicles safely and professionally to collect construction and demolition waste and transport it to designated waste facilities. The position requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, relevant waste types, and traffic laws. Applicants should be able to deliver excellent customer service and navigate challenges that may arise on-site.
Responsibilities- Drive vehicles safely, efficiently, and professionally as directed.
- Collect construction and demolition waste from customers and transport it to designated sites.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report accidents, defects, or safety concerns immediately.
- Ensure no vehicle with identifiable defects is driven on public roads.
- Keep vehicles clean inside and out.
- Ensure all loads are secure and compliant.
- Communicate job completion and site issues to Transport Controllers.
- Wear required PPE and issued uniform.
- Maintain courteous, polite, and professional conduct at all times.
- Report any changes to personal health or circumstances that may affect driving ability or licensing.
- Ability to drive safely and in compliance with traffic laws.
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions and job requirements.
- Strong communication skills with customers and internal staff.
- Valid Class 1 or Class 2 driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Valid digital tachograph card.
- Up-to-date driving licences and compliance with legislation.
- Good working knowledge of London.
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in varied site conditions.
